Jericho’s Day of Silence

Jericho’s Day of Silence

The National Day of Silence is the largest student run movement in the country. The Gay Straight Alliance Club sponsored this event in the middle school this year. It was a tremendous success with over 250 students taking a “Vow of Silence,” in order to stand up for people who are bullied and harassed because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. The commitment, passion, and maturity demonstrated by our students was remarkable. The students would not have been as motivated to this cause without the support of the faculty and administration.
